CROSS RIVER, N.Y. – Nearly 100 John Jay High School students performed about 20 acts on Saturday, June 8, at the annual Variety Show.

The talented students pulled out all the stops this year to honor Steve Morse, the retiring performing arts teacher who was directing his final show.

“This was the most fulfilling Variety Show I’ve produced here at John Jay,” Morse was quoted as saying on the school district’s website. “The talent was exceptional, the lighting and sound were both marvelous, and we had a stage crew that was the epitome of professionalism.”

Assistant Principal Vincent Bell agreed, calling it “one of the best” variety shows “ever.”
