LEWISBORO, N.Y. – The following information was provided by the Lewisboro Police Department.
A distracted driver rear-ended another motorist on Bouton Road in South Salem shortly after 8 a.m. Monday, July 15.
The driver who caused the crash reportedly told police that her water bottle had fallen and distracted her.
No injuries were reported and both cars were driven away.
Parking Lot Crash
A vehicle backing out of a parking space struck another vehicle that was driving through the parking lot in the Goldens Bridge Shopping Center, around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 16. No injuries were reported.
Dog at the Pool
Around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, police responded to a complaint that a dog was at the Lewisboro Town Pool. Police said the woman who had brought the dog promised to take it home and not bring it to the pool area again.
Dog Down on Route 35
Good Samaritans tended to a golden retriever who was lying in the middle of Main Street in South Salem around 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, July 17.
Police arrived and took the dog, which appeared to be suffering from heat exhaustion, to South Salem Animal Hospital, with a core temperature of 105.7 degrees Fahrenheit. It was provided with water and was cooled. The dog’s owner, who lives on Main Street, was notified.
Seizure at Chase Bank
A customer at Chase Bank in Cross River suffered a seizure around 2 p.m. Saturday, July 20. The person, who has a seizure disorder, was not transported to the hospital.
Three people from out of town reportedly trespassed at Lake Waccabuc around 4:30 p.m. Sunday, July 21. The people were from Mamaroneck, New Jersey and Connecticut. Police said they cleaned up after themselves and left the area without incident.
Man with Sword
Around 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 21, police responded to a report of a man walking down Truesdale Lake Road in South Salem carrying a sword and talking to himself. The man told police that he found the sword in a garbage can and was bringing it home to sandblast it.
