CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. – The John Jay Statesmen seventh-grade boys basketball team won B Division Championship of the Tri-County Basketball League in a hard-fought, 49-45, win over the Mamaroneck Tigers on Sunday, March 8, at Horace Greeley High School.

The team was coached by Jordan Moody. Lizzie Cooper served as the parent team manager.

“The boys worked hard all season and I’m extremely proud of them,” Moody said. “From the beginning, I asked if they wanted to be winners, or champions. They chose the latter and worked hard every practice and didn’t back down from any challenge I gave them to achieve that goal. I’m excited for their future in whatever they chose to pursue, and it was a lot of fun coaching these young men.”
