Baseball: Brearley Easily Defeats St. Mary, 10-0


KENILWORTH, NJ – David Brearley baseball dominated St. Mary’s of Elizabeth in a 10-0 blowout on Tuesday.

Seniors Joe Scanio and Tyler Weiss had four runs and three RBIs each. Seniors Jesse Goncalves and Matt Keith and junior Mike Ramos all had three runs and three RBIs. Senior Jeff Yosurack hit three runs and four RBIs. Sophomore Vinny Rappa, senior Antonio Sacca and junior Danny Smith all had one run each, with Rappa hitting one RBI and Sacca and Smith both hitting three. Senior Ryan Griffin also claimed an RBI.

On the pitcher’s mound, Sacca pitched four innings and struck out seven. Junior Nick Ferrante pitched one inning and struck out one.

As a team, Brearley racked up 24 hits compared to St. Mary’s one hit.

Brearley currently stands 3-3 in league and 4-4 overall. The Bears will take on Jonathan Dayton Thursday at 4 p.m. in an away game.
