Become a Certified Personal Trainer in Six Weeks through Union County College

The Office of Continuing Education at Union County College is offering the Personal Trainer National Certification beginning on January 13, 2018.   

Start a new career this spring by becoming a certified personal trainer. The class is held from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays from January 13 through February 17. This combination lecture and hands-on program prepares you to work one-on-one with clients. Core topics include: anatomy, exercise physiology, nutrition, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, cardio respiratory fitness, musculoskeletal injuries, weight control, health screening, motivation, teaching techniques and more. This course is taught over a five-week period for better retention and skill competency. The World Instructor Training Schools (W.I.T.S.) national certification exam is held on the sixth week. Students who successfully pass this course and exam will be prepared for career opportunities in fitness centers, gyms, spas, or to start your own businesses.

Proof of CPR recommended for certification and may be taken before, during, or after the course. The price of the course is $599 which includes the cost of the WITS exam.
