WESTFIELD, NJ — From now until Sept. 14, Athleta and The Town Book Store in Downtown Westfield are collecting school supplies for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Union County, whose mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need them most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

“The mission of the ‘Bestfield’ initiative is to be the change we wish to see in the world," Westfield Chief Spirit Officer Meaghan Murphy said. “Every child deserves to go back to school with the basic supplies they need to succeed. We as a community have to power to make that happen.”

The collection will end with a “Bestfield” event at Athleta on the 14th featuring a book signing by Laurie Gelman, author of the bestselling book “Class Mom.” Attendees are encouraged to bring a backpack filled with school supplies to donate.
