KENILWORTH, NJ - Friday (June 8) is the deadline to apply for this year's Kenilworth Police Youth Academy, according to the police department.

The Academy is an educational program, created by the department, that focuses on the town's young people. The program "is designed to provide positive interaction between the children of our community and the officers who serve them," the police said. 

The Academy "emphasizes professionalism, teamwork, respect and integrity in a disciplined learning environment," they added.

The program will take place July 9 to July 13, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at David Brearley High School. It is open to any Kenilworth resident or DBHS student that will be enrolled in grades eight through 12 for the 2018-2019 school year.

Applications, available at the high school guidance office, the police department or by emailing Detective Brian Pickton at brian_pickton@kenilworthschools.com, must be completed and returned by the Friday deadline.
