KENILWORTH, NJ - Five teachers in the Kenilworth Public School District are seeking donations for classroom projects through the educational crowdfunding website

Established in 2000 DonorsChoose is a nonprofit organization that allows individuals to donate directly towards school supplies and classroom projects requested by the teachers. You can donate a small amount to a specific teacher, or type in the zip code or school to see all the teacher requests.

“I’ve been using the platform 'DonorsChoose' to support my kindergarten kids for several years" Kindergarten teacher Stacey Miller from Harding said. It started with my need for a new kitchen play set in 2018. When I reached out to the community for support I was overwhelmed by the people who wanted to see good things happen in our Kenilworth schools. From the local flower shop to parents of students from 20 years ago - it was remarkable to me to know the number of people who wanted to pay it forward and support my vision for educating my class. This year with COVID-19 changing the very way we educate kids I’ve remained steadfast in my dedication to this community.”

Miller also added “I want to make sure people know to check back often because it's a revolving thing so to speak. You can check back every now and again, type in 07033 and see who needs what.”
