KENILWORTH, NJ - The "diverse cuisines of Kenilworth's renowned restaurants" will be spotlighted next month in the first "Restaurant Week," a 5-day event presented by the Pride in Kenilworth Committee, according to the borough.

During "Restaurant Week" from June 4 through June 8, participating Kenilworth restaurants will offer specials and fixed-price menus,  to spotlight the diverse cuisines of Kenilworth’s renowned restaurants, said Kenilworth Borough Clerk Laura Reinersten in a statement. She said people will be able to sample Italian, French, Portuguese, Irish, Thai, American Continental, Indian, Mexican and other fares in a dining experience "like no other."

The goal of the event is "to showcase the variety and unparalleled quality of the restaurants and give food lovers the opportunity to score limited-time lunch and dinner deals" at the eateries, said the clerk.

“We are thrilled to kick off our first restaurant week," said Kenilworth Councilwoman Linda Karlovitch, one of the organizers. "Our participating restaurants promise to bring their 'A' game. Showcasing the impact that our local businesses have on Kenilworth’s dining scene in creative ways is crucial to boosting our local economy. Locals and foodies already embrace Kenilworth’s amazing restaurants and now it's time for others to discover them."

There will be more than food at hand, said Reinersten. She said activities "have been included uptown at various locations along the Boulevard from North 20th Street to North 24th Street."

These include "Open Mic Monday," showcasing Kenilworth’s  local talent, "Crafty Tuesday" offering craft stations for all ages, "Wellness Wednesday" featuring Yoga, Zumba and more and "Boogie Down the Boulevard Thursday and Friday" when there will be live music performed.

Mayor Anthony DeLuca commented, "We are excited to launch a new dining experience with Kenilworth’s Restaurant Week. This new event promotes eating in Kenilworth, while taking the opportunity to get together and reconnect with family and friends."
