I’m Voting for LaZare Because I Recognize My Family’s Needs in Her Words

While I only recently had the opportunity to meet Jill LaZare – the Democratic candidate for Senate in New Jersey's 21st Legislative District – at my front door in Summit and at a rally of the Summit Democrats, I find her tremendous energy and passion impressive, and her key message resonates with my family. Jill believes that we have one common goal: to build strong communities to live and raise a family in. When I hear her speak, I recognize my family’s needs in her words. This too often is lacking when we listen to many of our elected officials.

Jill’s agenda includes fully funding our public schools and supporting teachers, common sense gun laws, repairing our infrastructure, including the critical Hudson River Tunnels, women’s heathcare and a fair wage for all New Jersey citizens. Jill will help create policy that makes sense not only for my family, but for all regular New Jersey families. However, Jill already has a proven record when it comes to advocating for families. Five years ago, when her daughter died of a drug overdose, Jill began a successful fight for the creation of a "good Samaritan" law in New Jersey to encourage calls to first responders faster.

I can see the fire that burns within Jill – a lifelong resident of New Jersey and successful attorney practicing in Summit – to head to Trenton to better our State and I am excited for her to serve the people of the 21st District.
