KENILWORTH, NJ - The Kenilworth 8U Bears softball team defeated Summit, 14-8, to take the Cranford Fall League championship.

The newly formed team had only played in this past summer and fall season, finished with a 9-2 record.

Coach Suzanne Zawacki said, “They have come a long since the first practice in June, they are a super bunch of girls who worked hard and were truly dedicated.”

“All of the girls hit well and made fielding plays that helped us toward and to win the championship They really deserved this championship based on their work ethics and love for the sport,” said Zawacki.

RAHWAY, NJ - The Rahway City Council unanimously introduced an ordinance that will make the intersection of West Lake Avenue and Madison Avenue a 4-way stop at its regular meeting held Monday night.

The public hearing on the measure is scehduled for June 11.

The introduction of the ordinance comes after a woman was struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing West Lake Avenue around 7 p.m.
