KENILWORTH, NJ - Stevanie Rhim, a student at David Brearley High School, has been an active leader and integral part of the Race Matters Alliance for the past two years. January 13, 2020, at the Board of Education meeting, she was commended for her work by The Kenilworth Board of Education

Rhim last summer began laying the groundwork to collaborate a panel of students to participate in a series of videotaped discussions surrounding difficult subjects that students often face. Brearley technology teacher, Jake Ulasevich helped assist in the project. The first two videos titled ‘Conversation Matters’, are posted on YouTube and can be seen by searching ‘David Brearley Conversation Matters’.

Students, teachers, and administrators have all been impressed with Rhim’s ability to bring people together and take the lead to open up conversations on sensitive topics. Janice Marsili, David Brearley Art teacher praised Rhim, “Stevanie is sure to make as indelible a mark on the world beyond David Brearley High School as she has made on its students and staff”.
