KENILWORTH, NJ - Anthony “AJ” DeVito, 30, of Union, died suddenly on August 16 at home. 

AJ was a proud volunteer for the Kenilworth Fire Department for three years.  He worked for the County of Union for ten years in park maintenance and was a member of the Father Canty Council K of C 3197 Hillside, the Italian American Police Association and the American Legion. AJ made a huge impact on the Kenilworth community and was loved by all. "A heart of gold and always a smile, a person that could make your worst day the best day, or your saddest day one of your happiest days," is what friends and community members have said to describe AJ.

AJ is the beloved son of Kerry (McCarthy) DeVito and John A. DeVito, brother of Benjamin and his wife Jacqueline.  He is survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and Ruthie Ann, the family dog.

Parking will be available to all uniformed personnel (no apparatus) behind St. Theresa’s School, Monroe Ave. between 22nd & 23rd Street. Out of town personnel arriving early are welcome to stage at Fire HQ which is located 3 short blocks from the church. 491 Washington Ave. Kenilworth, NJ.
