Leonard Lance and challenger Peter Jacob to debate in Clark Oct. 27

U.S. Rep. Leonard Lance (R-7) and Peter Jacob, the Democratic challenger in November's election for New Jersey's 7th Congressional District, will debate on Thursday, October 27, at the Holiday Inn in Clark, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

The debate, being sponsored by the Gateway Regional Chamber of Commerce, will be moderated by Jim Coyle, the chamber president.

In addition to more than half of Union County, the New Jersey 7th Congressional District includes parts of Essex, Morris, Somerset and Warren counties and all of Hunterdon County.

Lance is serving his fourth term in the House of Representatives, having been first elected in 2009. He sits on the House Energy and Commerce Committee. Jacob, a resident of Union, is a licensed social worker and activist.

The event is open to the public. To register, visit www.gatewaychamber.com and go to Events. Registration is not required but is encouraged. The cost is $20 pre-registration and $30 at the door.

Members of the media are invited at no charge.
