Master Gardeners Offer Free Tour-and-Learn Program on Harvesting and Food Safety

A free new class is available to help gardeners learn about harvesting and preparing home grown vegetables. Offered by the Master Gardeners of Union County, the “Harvesting and Food Safety in the Vegetable Garden” class includes a free tour of the Union County Demonstration Garden in Mountainside.

All gardeners are welcome to attend, from beginner to expert.

“This class is a good opportunity to learn how you can get the most out of your harvest, and ensure that fresh produce from your garden is properly stored and preserved,” said Union County Freeholder Chairman Bruce H. Bergen. “It’s another fine example of the many ways in which the Master Gardeners make a difference in our community.”
