KENILWORTH, NJ – Mayor Anthony DeLuca proclaimed May 14 through May 20 as Police Week in Kenilworth, in accordance with National Police Week, at Wednesday’s Borough Council Meeting.

National Police Week was signed into being in 1962 by President John F. Kennedy. The week serves as an honor to those who serve in law enforcement and centers around May 15, Peace Officers Memorial Day.

“The Mayor and Council formally designates May 14-20, 2017, as Police Week in the Borough of Kenilworth, and publicly salutes the service of law enforcement officers in our community and in communities across the nation,” Mayor DeLuca read.

The proclamation will be presented to the Police Chief John Zimmerman at a later date.
