KENILWORTH, NJ – Please see the important message from Mayor Linda Karlovitch.

Yesterday, myself along with our Office of Emergency Management released an executive order in the Borough of Kenilworth.

We continue to closely monitor the ever changing developments of the COVID-19 virus with our Health officers and our State and County officials. We will continue to follow the lead of our Governor.

Coronavirus must be taken seriously. This virus is spreading rapidly and I urge the public and business owners to follow the rules and guidelines set in place by Governor Murphy.

State guidelines,

Aggressive social distancing.

All non-essential and non-emergency travel is “strongly” discouraged from 8pm to 5am.

Essential businesses like supermarkets and pharmacies and those involved in public welfare are permitted to remain open beyond 8pm.

Statewide shutdown of our schools.

Gatherings of 50 or more people are banned.

All bars and restaurants are closed for eat-in services and are limited to offering delivery and/or take out services only.

All casinos, concert venues, nightclubs, racetracks, gyms, fitness centers and classes, movie theaters and performing art centers will be closed to the public.

Additionally, the Governor has ordered the mobilization of the National Guard to work on utilizing buildings that can be easily converted to medical facilities.

During this uncertain and stressful time please remember to slow down and remain positive. Practice self care. Small acts of kindness are big acts of love for those in need. Please look out for your neighbors especially those whom are most vulnerable. We are fortunate and blessed to live in such a close knit, caring and connected community. We are strong because we take care of each other. We will get through this together.

Please stay safe, healthy, and be kind to one another,

Linda Karlovitch

Mayor
