Friends and Neighbors,

Recently, I was endorsed by the following labor organizations: New Jersey State AFL CIO, New Jersey Educational Association (NJEA), and the Health Professionals and Allied Employees (HPAE). As a Democratic candidate for State Assembly (Legislative District 21), I believe that it is crucial to address many issues of importance to working families in this state:  access to healthcare, protecting women’s reproductive rights, keeping our schools strong and our infrastructure safe and up-to-date,

I am deeply honored by the support of these organizations and their members.  Not only do labor organizations work hard to protect and improve working conditions for hundreds of thousands of New Jerseyans, they have historically been a strong voice for social change and improving racial and social justice.

In addition to these endorsements, my campaign was recently named a Spotlight Race by the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (DLCC).  According to the DLCC, “Spotlight Races will connect supporters, grassroots activists, and anyone else following state races with our impressive candidates running in critical legislative elections across the country. Their success will not only decide the balance of power in many states, but also help transform statehouses into governments that better reflect the communities they represent."

I was brought up to believe in the power of an honest day’s work for an honest day’s pay.  This Labor Day, let's take a moment today to remember the work that these organizations have done on behalf of wage equality, workplace safety, and social and racial justice.   And let’s make sure that the voices of working families are heard in Trenton on November 7.

Lacey Rzeszowski is the Democratic Candidate for State Assembly in the New Jersey's 21st Legislative District.
