Three New York Activities for this Weekend

Quick: What was the name of David Hasselhoff's talking car in TV's Knight Rider?

Er, actually we don't remember. But the point is somebody must and that person -- and for that matter anybody else who enjoys brain teasers like this -- should be at The Firehouse (522 Columbus Ave. at 85th St.) Wednesday for the New York Social Network's Trivia Night.

Join NYSN founder Dave Cervini for a fun evening that will combine food, drink conversation and a little friendly competition over pop culture, music, TV, movies, history, NYC and more.

There are three rounds of 15 questions each, with prizes awarded for each round. Making the event a little more competitive: Participants will be rotated to new teams after each round (unless you have a team already).

There is brunch and then there is dim sum.

Dim sum is a traditional Chinese breakfast/brunch meal which features small portions of a variety of foods, including steamed or fried dumplings, meats, fish and pastries that will fill you up for the day.

NYSN will gather at 27 Sunshine (27 Division St.) on Sunday where the food promises to be as lively and varied as the conversation. A dim sum host will do the ordering for you (in case you are a novice) and accommodate any special requests you have.

The price ($25) includes meal, tea, soft drink, tax and tip and organizer's meal.

You won't read about it in the Times but Randy the Racoon is missing.

Now it's up to you to find one of Central Park's friendliest critters in the NYSN's latest intriguing and fun scavenger hunt mysteries.

Through eyewitness accounts and other clues you and your team will re-trace Randy's paws, racing against the clock -- not other teams -- to help solve the mystery. And it's not like you're trying to find Jimmy Hoffa's body; you'll be guided through the clues and a very specific area of the park on the west side from 67th St. to 85th St..

It all gets underway with registration at The Firehouse Tavern at 11:30 a.m. Everything should be wrapped up by 3:30 p.m.
