KENILWORTH, NJ – Several residents still remain without power while others wait for tree companies to clean up damage after Tropical Storm Isaias swept through Kenilworth on Tuesday.

The KFD, KPD, and Kenilworth DPW responded to approximately 100 calls of multiple trees into houses, wires down, flooding basements, power outages, and fire alarm activations. The KPD stated that all police resources were diverted to dealing with the storm emergency, and there were no reported injuries.

Many roads were closed throughout the day but no roadways were flooded. The Boulevard has recently reopened but from South 21st to Newark Avenue the road is still closed due to a leaning utility pole.

Still, 1/3 of the town remains without power. Many residents have spoken to PSE&G which includes Brian Broskoskie who said he receives updates every two hours and by around 11:00 p.m. Thursday, he was told the power should be back on. According to the PSE&G Storm Outage website at 5:00 p.m., there have been 1,122 customers affected in Kenilworth.
