UNION, NJ – Tomatoes, pierogi, pickles, figs, honey, kale, strawberries, crab cakes. These were just a few of the items available at Union’s Farmer’s Market, which opened Thursday afternoon.
The Farmer’s Market is located in the parking lot in front of Town Hall and will be open every Thursday from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. until September 1.
NJ Buzz has a variety of honey and honey products available and Krakus Deli sells stuffed cabbage and kiebosi among other items. M&N Farms sells all types of farm produce, from celery to figs to carrots. Produce and herbs are available from Martenette Farm, and breads, desserts, pickles and ravioli are just some of the items available from High Mountain.
Union Farmer’s Market is dedicated to providing a place where local farmers, producers, artisans and crafters can sell their products, while customers are buying fresh and eating locally produced food.
“We’ve been living in Union for about a year and we used to go to some great farmer’s markets down south,” said Union resident Kara West. ”I’m really happy to see Union starting something like this. We love living in Union, and we like to have some of the things we miss from home.”
