UPDATE: The Easter Egg Hunt was rescheduled for Sunday at 10 a.m.
KENILWORTH, NJ- The Kenilworth Rec Department will hold its annual Easter egg hunt and Little League/Softball parade on Saturday, April 8.
The egg hunt will begin promptly at 9 a.m. at DiMario Park for children ranging from toddler to fourth grade. Recreation Director Pat Boyle asks that families arrive by 8:30 a.m. so they don’t miss the whistle.
“It’s well attended every year,” Boyle said. “I’m sure it’ll be a great time.”
Following the egg hunt, all little league and softball players should meet at 12:30 p.m. at St. Theresa’s church for the parade, which begins at 1 p.m. The parade will have at least 200 people, according to Boyle, and will wrap up at the Little League field, where the opening ceremony will take place.
Kenilworth resident John Filippone will throw out the first pitch in honor of his nephew, Daniel. Vanessa Sierra, a student at David Brearley High School, will sing the national anthem.
“I’m very excited for the event,” Boyle said. “We’re looking forward to it.”
