Are you ready to celebrate the end of the school year? Many area schools are concluding for the summer, making kids primed to party. If you’re looking for something fun to do this weekend with the family in New Jersey, you must make time to check out the following local events.

 

Montville 4th of July Celebration

The city of Montville is ready to celebrate Independence Day early this year! The town’s July 4th event will actually be held on June 22 to June 24. The fireworks show will be Saturday night and choreographed to music. A parade in honor of the event will be held on 1 pm on Saturday. Additional highlights include carnival rides, food-eating contests, and live musical acts.

16th Parish Festival

The Immaculate Conception Parish in Annadale will be having their annual carnival this coming weekend. From Wednesday to Sunday, the church grounds will be transformed into a fair with carnival rides, food vendors, a pig roast, and fireworks on Saturday night. The fair will open nightly at 6 pm with the exception of Sunday when gates open at 4 pm.

State Fair

The State Fair has finally arrived again at the Meadowlands in East Rutherford. From June 22 to July 9, games, live entertainment, rides, and food will be all available at the very popular event. Favorites among the lineup include racing pigs, high dive act, Batcopter rides, and Sky Rides. Advance tickets are available for purchase.

Annual Fireman’s Carnival and Fireworks

Historic Chester will be hosting their annual fair from June 20 to June 24. Tuesday and Thursday will be wristband nights while the fireworks are scheduled for Friday night with a raindate for Saturday. Carnival and fire truck rides will be running along with food vendors and a beer tent.
