8th Annual Independent Authors Book Expo

The Roselle, NJ-based nonprofit Independent Authors Book Experience (IABX) will be hosting its 8th Annual Independent Authors Book Expo in person on Sat., Aug 7th, 11AM - 5PM, at 210 Chestnut St, Roselle. Authors from around the nation will be gathering together to share their original works and to promote the love of literacy to all ages.

“Our annual expo is always a blast, and we won’t let COVID-19 dampen our spirits,” states Smith. “Last year, we held the expo digitally due to the pandemic, but now look forward to meeting in person once again and hosting this intimate networking event. We are planning some exciting activities, including our regular children’s corner for kids to listen to some new stories and take home some free crafts, giveaways for all who participate, and seminars for authors to help them along with their craft. There is something for everyone who attends.”

The goal of the Expo is to also help novice authors find ways to make a living through the written word. Smith speaks from a position of experience - she is an international award-winning author herself, pulling from her native Jamaica to write cook books, as well as writing children’s picture books. She inherited her mother’s passion for reading and literature, sharing her deep love for the arts at a young age.

This years’ Children’s Corner sponsors are Columbia Bank in Roselle, Roselle Public Library, WAWA and Scholastic who donated books for our young participants.
