KENILWORTH, NJ - The annual Kenilworth Communitywide Garage Sale will be held on Saturday, October 5, and Sunday, October 6. This event is sponsored by the Kenilworth Historical Society and will take place from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. each day rain or shine. There are usually about 200 residents that come out and participate.

The registration deadline to sign up is Friday, September 27.  The fee is $12 and residents will receive a certificate representing the Borough’s permission to proceed and benefit from the Kenilworth Historical Society’s statewide advertising of the communitywide event via major newspapers, Web sites and prominently placed signage and fliers.

The addresses of registered participating residences will be included in a Kenilworth Communitywide Garage Sale listing and map that will be available in quantity, free of charge, at the Kenilworth Acme Customer Service desk (801 Boulevard), Borough Clerk’s Office (567 Boulevard), Public Library (548 Boulevard), and Especially Yours Florist (13 N. 20th Street) after October 3. The listing will also be posted on the Borough of Kenilworth's website at www.kenilworthborough.com.

Registration forms with instructions may be obtained at the Kenilworth Borough Clerk’s Office/Borough Hall, Public Library, Especially Yours Florist and on the Borough of Kenilworth website. The registration fee may be paid by check payable to the Kenilworth Historical Society, or the exact amount in cash. Payment can be made by mail to the Kenilworth Historical Society or in person at the Borough Clerk’s Office or at Especially Yours Florist.  For further information, please call 908-709-0434.

The Kenilworth Historical Society is sponsoring the Communitywide Garage Sale as a service to the community. Any proceeds after advertising and other related costs will benefit the organization’s fundraising campaign to help defray the cost of an elevator that makes the Oswald J. Nitschke House museum and cultural arts center fully accessible to everyone. 

The Kenilworth Historical Society is an independent, volunteer-based, non-profit, tax-exempt, 501 (c)(3) organization dedicated to the research, preservation and interpretation of the historic Oswald J. Nitschke House (c. 1880), local history and culture.
