KENILWORTH, NJ – Emma Alves and Danny Ramos have been named this week’s David Brearley High School Athletes of the Week.

Danny Ramos is a 16-year-old junior who is the quarterback for the varsity football team. Ramos loves to play sports and has been playing football since he was five years old. His best football memory was from this year when the team beat Bound Brook on the last play of the game. “The excitement I felt with my team is something I’ll never forget.” In his free time Ramos likes to play basketball.

Emma Alves plays on the girls’ varsity soccer team. When she was six years old her tennis coach said she could improve her speed by playing a sport like soccer. “I signed up for a team and absolutely loved it. Soccer is an outlet for me to express myself.” Her favorite memories include winning conference champions or when she hangs out with the team and bonds. Alves says, “my coach knows what she is doing and teaches us on the field as well as off the field.” Her other hobbies are volleyball and tennis.
