KENILWORTH, NJ – The Blackthorn Restaurant and Irish Pub located at 651 North Michigan Avenue has officially been foreclosed. The ownership has been reverted back to Republic First Bank the court order states as of September 27, 2019. The court order that was issued by the Superior Court of New Jersey provides that the owners were in arrears of the total sum of $2, 616.107.73 in mortgage payments.
First Republic has now assumed the responsibility for maintaining the site and the banks counsel has assured the Borough they will do all necessary cleanups moving forward. All charges of the site’s maintenance prior to the bank’s responsibility, which was initially led by councilman and public works chairman Mark David, have been assessed and added to the Blackthorn’s tax liability.
