KENILWORTH, NJ - David Brearley’s Bears and Bruins That Care joined together this month in honor of two of Kenilworth’s finest residents, Sergeant Robert Kaulfers and John Tobin, both of whom lost their lives as a result of the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001. Both Tobin and Kaulfers raised children who attended Brearley and were active members of the Bears That Care Program. Brearley’s middle and high school students ran a food drive to collect hundreds of non-perishable goods, which were donated to the local food pantry at St. Theresa’s Church on September 27th. The event was an overwhelming success, and is a testament to the strength of the community and its members. Bears and Bruins That Care, run by Jill Minarik and Diane Westbrook respectively, will continue to host fundraisers and community outreach programs throughout the school year.
