NEWS NEARBY - New Destiny, CDC located in Roselle, NJ spread hope and cheer this past weekend by distributing packages of food, toiletries, dairy products, fresh fruit, and feminine products to over 400 residents (individuals) of Union and Essex County on Saturday, March 21, 2020. While the coronavirus Pandemic is in full effect and with Governor Murphy closing non-essential facilities; New Destiny, CDC and its Pastors continues to open its Pantry doors to the Residents of Roselle, Union County, and surrounding areas.
The Pantry opened the GIVING BACK campaign with Dr. Cynthia Atkins of Roselle praying for the President, Congress, local government (Governor Murphy and Mayors), and for the Roselle Community at large. Distributing food to the community were Union County Freeholder Andrea Staten, former Roselle Councilwoman Carla Walker, Bishop Reginald Atkins and Dr. Cynthia Atkins, Elder Tanya Griffin of Linden, NJ, College Students from Fairleigh Dickerson University and New Jersey City University, and youth from Roselle and Linden Communities.
The team of individuals picked up food from the local Community Food Bank of New Jersey located in Hillside, NJ before heading to Roselle to distribute to residents who were waiting for the food and products… The line was wrapped around the corner! “May God bless Bishop Atkins and his wife, Dr. Cynthia Atkins for blessing our community, you two have a seat in kingdom”, stated Mr. Stevens of Roselle.
New Destiny, CDC is a 501(3)(c) founded by Bishop Reginald and Dr. Cynthia Atkins and had its humble beginnings in Essex County (Newark, NJ) in 2000 and expanded to Union County (Roselle, NJ) and continues today serving the community with Counseling services, Food Pantry, Emergency Food Pantry, Period Initiative (Feminine Hygiene Products), and Financial Seminars, Microsoft, Project Management, and A-Plus Job Training.
