KENILWORTH, NJ - Louis DeMondo was sworn in as the newest member of the council during Wednesday night’s meeting on August 23, 2020, as the Council's Finance Chairman by Mayor Linda Karlovitch.
Currently, DeMondo is a detective assigned to the Major Crimes Division, and also a police officer which he has served for the past fifteen years. DeMondo studied Criminal Justice at St. Peter's University and Kean University while volunteering as an auxiliary police officer attending college full-time. He has received numerous awards and commendations and was selected to join the prestigious Emergency Services Unit.
“I am a proud Kenilworth resident with a strong belief in giving back,” DeMondo said. “I volunteer my time to numerous charitable and non-profit organizations.” DeMondo is on the PBA board and as President of the Hispanic Law Enforcement Association of Union County. During his time as president, he has organized various fundraising events to provide collegiate academic scholarships to promising students throughout the county.

As the Council's Finance Chairman, I am able to fully utilize my business acumen, leadership skills, and experience to benefit the Borough and its residents. The next regular meeting of the Mayor and Council will be held on, Wednesday, September 9, 2020, right after the work session which begins at 6:00 p.m.
