KENILWORTH, NJ - Governor Murphy announced at his press briefing Wednesday, July, 1 that playgrounds were set to reopen on Thursday, July 2.

Mayor Linda Karlovitch commented, “I hope everyone enjoys the parks. Please practice self-care by wearing masks and keeping your hands clean. Social distancing is still required. We must all practice social responsibility for our safety and the safety of others, especially those who are most vulnerable. Stay safe and I hope everyone has a good time in our parks. “

Due to the CDC guidelines, the restrooms located at DiMario Park and Louis Wood (16th Street Park), will remain closed. The playgrounds will be getting disinfected everyday which will require a half-hour break from play. The playground will be cleaned with Bioesque Botanical Disinfectant Solution that is EPA approved. According to the Kenilworth Rec, cleaning will take place in the afternoon between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Anyone on the playground will be asked to step away until all the disinfecting is completed.
