KENILWORTH, NJ – Friday January 3, 2020, there was a packed house at Borough Hall. Four members of the community were sworn into the council. Linda Karlovitch as the Mayor of Kenilworth, Kay Ceceri as Councilwoman, and Daniel Lopez and Mark David as Councilmen. Lopez is new and was appointed to the vacant seat.
Mayor Karlovitch was extremely humbled. “I am honored to have been given this amazing opportunity to represent our community. I wish to thank the Borough of Kenilworth for the privilege to serve as your mayor. Thank you for the confidence you have shown in me and I accept the responsibilities your trust has entitled me. I could not do this job without the involvement and openness of the people I represent.” Karlovitch praised her running mates. “Congratulations to Councilwoman Kay Ceceri and Mark David on your victory. Our Borough is better with you here. Congratulations to our new councilman Daniel Lopez on his appointment. Welcome we are happy you are here.” She also thanked former Mayor Anthony DeLuca. “I wish to thank Mayor DeLuca who has given our Borough a level of service which has been nothing but outstanding. He is firm but fair, clear and considerate, and has done a great job moving us forward. I hope everyone will join me in thanking him and wishing him well for all he has done to make this Borough stronger and better.”
The next council meeting will be January 22, at 8:00 p.m.
