Classes will be taught by Ms. Rachel, Ms. Viviana, and Ms. Amy. At the end of the series, a meditation jar workshop will be held for both kids and parents with Ms. Christa. Please see below the description of the classes and what will be covered during the series.
FEARVANA KIDS YOGA (ages 3-6)
For kids ages 3-6, is probably the greatest time to introduce yoga!
Kids learn postures through fun by creating shapes with our bodies to mimic animals and through yoga games, story, play, and music. Kids will learn the magic of pranayama- how we can harness our breath to calm us down or power us up, how to develop our attention spans by being super observers, how to use all of our senses by being master detectives of our surroundings and learning the sense of community by working together as a team by respecting each other and ourselves. Meditation is introduced with short quiet time and through the use of mantra.
Yoga concepts will be introduced through discussion, play, and music that is appropriate for this age group. These 45-minute classes are packed with fun, but with a sense of control that can empower them for a lifetime.
FEARVANA KIDS YOGA (ages 7-11)
Fearvana KIDS for ages 7-11 will introduce kids to a structured yoga class that integrates asana, discussion, meditation, music, and self-awareness with some fun yoga games in the mix.
Classes will cover the fun, and sometimes difficult aspect of yoga poses and what's required to achieve both physical strength and flexibility, but also the benefits of a calm and happy mindset. The different types of yoga postures (standing balances, backbends, arm balances, folds, hip openers, inversions, twists, stretches, and sequences) will be covered.
Through discussion and movement, kids will learn to uncover any challenges that may come about by practicing observation, patience, and focus. Friendships will come about in class to bring about community, respectful social interaction, and learning more about themselves to build self-awareness and confidence.
