KENILWORTH, NJ - Meet Dixie, Kenilworth’s TAPinto Pet of the Week!

Meet Dixie Anne. Dixie is a coonhound (age unknown) who was abandoned hunting dog from South Carolina and transported to NJ where her owners found her at St. Hubert’s in Madison, NJ.
Dixie is more like a human than a dog. She’s extremely sensitive and if she doesn’t get her way, she will let you know she’s not satisfied.

Dixie’s hobbies include: howling at the UPS truck, taking up all couch and bed space, howling at the groceries because she thinks they she be for her, digging to China in her bed, ignoring other dogs, checking herself in at the vet, and trying to fit her 100lbs on your lap. Dixies absolute favorite thing to do is go to bed. Once you ask her if she would like to go night night she stampedes through the house to get to bed and have her last treat of the day.

Dixie’s dislikes include: wet grass... she will avoid it at all costs necessary, Thunder/fireworks... that’s when she hides under the bed pillows (remember she’s 100lbs), when people are on the phone and not petting her, and anything that doesn’t involve snacks.

Dixie is a very sweet girl who always knows how to cheer you up when you are feeling down. Watch out if you sit with her because if she isn't receiving adequate pets, she will put her paws on your face.
