KENILWORTH, NJ – Daisy Girl Scout Troop #40006, ages five to seven, recently had an educational outing at the Kenilworth Fire Station. They spoke with firefighter Shawn Kelly as well as paramedic Kiara learning all about fire safety. The troop was also given a tour of the fire house and trucks. They had the opportunity to see what equipment a firefighter wears during a rescue and learned life saving tips if they ever encountered a fire emergency. Sarah Montero, one of the five troop leaders emphasized, “it was a wonderful experience for the kids to learn about being courageous and strong from two of our local heroes.”
