KENILWORTH, NJ – The KFD know how to make the children and parents of the community smile. The 2019 Santa’s Express brought incredible joy to the families of Kenilworth. This year the KFD and Santa personally hand delivered over 800 gifts to the children in town. This is a tradition that is not only free for families to join in the fun, but has been an annual event in Kenilworth for over 20 years. On the Kenilworth, NJ Fire Dept. and Rescue Squad Facebook page the KFD wrote “three crazy nights, one blinding snow squall, nine separate delivery routes, nine Santas, 43+ elves, and countless behind the scenes volunteers worked tirelessly to make this one of our most successful years ever.” Deputy Fire Chief John Mauro who was one of the Santas to participate commented, “even though the weather was brutal the smile on the parent's and children's faces makes it worth it.”

Over 1,100 unwrapped toys were collected which the KFD distributed to needy Union County families and the USMC Toys for Tots program. The KFD was thrilled with the turnout and success of the event. “Thank you for all of your tremendous support throughout the year. We can’t do it without you. Happy Holidays. See you next year.”
