KENILWORTH, NJ - The girls varsity soccer team (8-1-1) are coming off a two-game win with recent games against Benedictine Academy and Rahway demonstrating the squad’s resilience and determination under pressure.
Tuesday, September 24, Brearley defeated Benedictine Academy 6-0. Micaela Etlinger had a hat trick scoring three goals, Ariana Ascue scored two, and Naya Nascimento scored one. Thursday, September 26, the team beat Rahway 1-0. The goal was scored in the second half off a corner kick from Micaela Etlinger headed in by Amber Fernandes.
This coming Wednesday the team hopes to carry this same dominance in the first round of the Union County Tournament. “It’s been a long two weeks of back-to-back games, I’m looking forward to these girls getting the break they need,” head coach Michelle Ventura said. “We need to heal to come back 100 percent for the union county tournament on Wednesday”
The Union County Tournament will be Wednesday, October 2, when Brearley takes on Arthur L. Johnson on the football field at 4:00 p.m.
