KENILWORTH, NJ – The Brearley Bears Girls Varsity Soccer Team defeated the Clark Crusaders 2-1, Wednesday afternoon in the first round of the Union County Tournament extending its winning streak to nine. The team started the match with ferocity. It was an intense game on both ends. Micaela Etlinger and Amber Fernandes each scored a goal, and Melanie Dos Santos had one assist.
Head coach Michelle Ventura was thrilled for the team. “Our girls fought hard against ALJ even in extreme weather conditions. We needed to win to continue onto quarterfinals and that they did. Saturday’s game is going to be a challenging one but our girls seem to do their best under pressure. I’m excited to see what’s in store for us as we enter the last half of our season.”
The girls are set to play Summit Saturday, October 5. Details of time and location have not been confirmed yet. Stay tuned for the latest update.
