KENILWORTH, NJ – The boys and girls traveling basketball teams had another impressive weekend. Greg Scalise and Paulie Santoro are the boy players of the week. Both their coaches Melissa Condo and Tim Zawacki agreed both the boys have been vital in tackling the game with good ball handling, offense, and rebounds. The boys team came up short in overtime and lost to Tewksbury by one basket. The girl players of the week are the Sode sisters, Briellla and Georgia. Coach Suzanne Zawacki and Carmella Sode stated “Briella is an integral part of our team. She is versatile while playing a strong forward position as well as shooting guard. Georgia is a strong player, who came up big to aid in the win in overtime. Her defense created steals in which she capitalized with the bucket for the lead and win.” The girls team had a strong Saturday coming up short against Springfield, but then won the game two of the day against Mountainside in overtime. “The team played with great effort and never gave up” affirmed coach Zawacki.

The girls team will play against Springfield on Monday night and the boys next Saturday, January 18, against Bedminster.
