KENILWORTH, NJ – In front of numerous fans and family the Bears conquered the Pioneers by leading the team to a 35-13 victory to claim the Mid-State 38-Union Division championship at last Friday’s Homecoming Game. The Bears are extremely excited that they now stand 8-1 and move into the state playoffs in hopes of keeping the momentum going.
Highlights of the game include quarterback Danny Ramos rushing for 149 yards and making three touchdowns passing one to Peter Siragusa. Running back Derek Graichen scored once with 26 carries.
Thrilled with the outcome Ramos stated “Playing in front of your town for a conference championship is something you don’t get many opportunities to do. So we really enjoyed everything about the game. We play at Weequahic for a huge playoff. We understand what’s at stake now. We are ready to go.”
The varsity football team eagerly awaits the playoffs as they take on the Indians at Weequahic Highschool in Newark on Friday, November 8, at 7:00 p.m.
