Help the VVA and the Sussex Veterans' Cemetary

On Friday, November 2, the Junior Woman’s Club of Sparta (JWCS) will host a Gala Art Auction. The event will feature beautiful works of art, sports and music memorabilia, and designer handbags all up for auction. The event will take place at the Sky View Golf Club, with a preview beginning at 7:30, and the live auction following at 8:30. Included in the $30 cost of a ticket are hors d'oeuvres, desserts, soft drinks, and coffee, with a cash bar also available. John Stanisci, a professional Marvel and DC Comics Illustrator, will be there as the Featured Guest Artist.

Even if you’re not currently in the market for art, you can support this worthy cause be purchasing an advertisement in the Art Auction Journal that will be given to all attendees.  Journal prices range from full page advertisement for $100.00 to business card size for $25.00.

This evening of art is organized by the JWCS to support the Vietnam Veterans Chapter of Walkill Valley in their efforts to bring a veterans’ cemetery to Sussex County. There are almost 10,000 veterans in Sussex County, and a total of 125,000 in the five northern counties of New Jersey …. yet the closest state veterans’ cemetery is nearly 200 miles away. When developed, this cemetery will bring a final resting place for local veterans closer to home. All proceeds from the evening will benefit the VVA’s fundraising efforts for the cemetery. For more information on the cemetery, visit the Wallkill Valley Vietnam Veterans of America’s website at www.vva1002.org.
