WinterFest for American Vets is happening on November 3 & 4, 2012 at Pine Plaza, 831 Rt. 10, in Whippany.
Spirit of the Arts Foundation is producing this event as a fundraiser and an awareness event for our homeless, disabled and debilitated veterans. The foundation is working with Operation Chillout, a 501c3 veteran’s organization and would like to extend the open invitation to other groups to participate in the event.
Operation Chillout is a grassroots interfaith coalition founded in the year 2000 by concerned volunteers to help a group of homeless Viet Nam veterans living in the open under a railroad trestle in northern NJ. They believe in the inherent worth of every homeless man, woman and child and provide emergency supplies and survival gear to the most vulnerable members of our communities wherever we encounter them. They bring their care to all homeless people without regard to their religious affiliation, ethnic heritage or state of life.
The event will consist of live music, food, vendors of a variety of merchandise, and participation with the merchants and restaurants in the Plaza. For the kids we have Santa coming and will have visits with him at the Melting Pot on both days.
This invitation to any and all nonprofit veterans groups to participate in a vendor like situation, at no cost for either or both days.
