UNION COUNTY, NJ - Caring Contact, a crisis hotline that serves Northern and Central New Jersey, will be offering Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training in Mountainside on June 8 and 9. ASIST is an internationally acclaimed two-day interactive training program in suicide first-aid designed to provide trainees with the hands-on skills to intervene in the case of suicide. ASIST training is ideal for people with a variety of backgrounds, including first responders, teachers, school administrators, social workers, counselors, clergy, business managers, and parents. Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training is the most widely used suicide prevention training program in the world.
The 16-hour course is being offered in two eight-hour sessions, Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Imagine, Center for Coping with Loss, 244 Sheffield Street, Mountainside.
