ROSELLE, NJ - The Linden High School Tigers (ranked No. 11 on NJ.com’s Top 20) took to the road for a matchup with the Roselle Catholic High School Lions (ranked No. 1 on NJ.com’s Top 20), looking to add to their three-game winning streak.
The Tigers struggled from the start and couldn’t back on track, losing to the Lions by a final score of 70-55 Tuesday night in Roselle.
Roselle Catholic took control right from the opening quarter, opening the first eight minutes of play with a 20-7 lead and never looked back.
The Tigers went into halftime, trailing the Lions by a score of 41-26. Roselle Catholic defeated Linden by a final score of 65-45 back on January 23.
Roselle Catholic secured their win with a balanced offensive effort in the second half.
In the loss, Linden senior Tavon Jones scored 28 points to lead his team in the win. Senior Mikey Watkins added 11 points, while sophomore Myles Ruth tallied ten points on the evening.
The Linden Tigers (14-5) head out on the road when they travel to play at Elizabeth HS on Thursday, February 8 at 7:00 p.m.
