LINDEN, NJ - Linden resident Mark Mannuzza, along with other community members are coming together to host a car show fundraiser to benefit Isabel Dominguez, a first-grade student who was recently diagnosed with leukemia.
According to Mannuzza, this event is taking place at a time when the community needs each other most.
“It’s for a great cause and times like this is when we need each other most," he said. "I’m just trying to get the community to come together as one.”
Linden Board of Education member Ahmed Shehata is excited about being a part of the upcoming fundraiser.
"We are gathering as a community and as a family to help a tiger in need. When we heard Isabel was diagnosed with leukemia, we brainstormed to see what we could to help her and her family through this difficult time," said Shehata. "I have been fortunate to work with Mark on a fundraiser for Isabel Dominguez last month and am grateful he asked me to take part in this car show fundraiser where the proceeds are going to this same child. We cannot sit by knowing there was a problem in our town and did nothing; especially with one of our children"
"Mark has been an active member of our community. I realized this in person after I was fortunate enough to be elected to the Linden Board of Education," said Shehata. "Mark is the definition of spreading love the Linden way.”
The car show fundraiser will be held at the Linden Aviation Plaza located at 601-901 W. Edgar Avenue in Linden on Saturday, June 9 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The rain date for this event is Sunday, June 10.
A car donation of $20 is being asked from everyone participating.
The event is being supported by the Galloping Hill Cruisers and BBC Performance.
