LINDEN, NJ - Former Linden Police Chief Jonathan Parham is set to be sworn in as a Union County Undersheriff, this Friday.

As a member of the Linden Police Department for nearly 25 years, Parham has served in each rank from Officer to Captain before his promotion to Chief in September of 2016.

During his first month as Chief, Parham along with other Linden Police officers engaged in the shootout and capturing of convicted terrorist Ahmad Rahimi.

Additionally, as Police Chief, Parham provided both leadership as well as technological and operational innovations for the nearly 200 employee Police Department for the city.

Parham continued to lead the Linden Police Department until his retirement in December of 2017.

Union County Sheriff Peter Corvelli is honored to announce Parham's appointment, especially after a lengthy search.

“Upon Undersheriff Cryan’s retirement, we conducted an exhaustive search for the next Undersheriff whose vision and leadership aligns with our goals for the Union County Sheriff’s Office," Corvelli said.  "While there were a number of talented candidates, Jon Parham’s name and experience stood above the rest.  I am very happy that he will be with my Office as we continue to move forward to provide the type of services that Union County residents expect to receive.”

Undersheriff Parham will be sworn into office on July 13, 2018, at 3 P.M. in the Courtroom of Union County Vicinage Assignment Judge, the Honorable Karen Cassidy. He will join current Undersheriffs Amilcar Colon and Dennis Burke as the executive management team for Sheriff Corvelli.
