The Linden Cultural Committee and Mystic Vision Players presents Children of Eden
Mystic Vision Players, Linden’s resident theatre company since 1992, is proud to present Children of Eden. From musical theatre greats, Stephen Schwartz (composer of Wicked, Godspell) and John Caird (director of Les Miserables), comes a joyous and inspirational musical using the Bibles stories of the Adam and Eve and Noah and the Ark, to explore the themes of love and family.
When asked about what prompted the choice of this show, director Howard Whitmore said, “This show has been close to my heart since it first appeared at Papermill, and the message is one that we all need to be reminded of from time to time.” He elaborated on the strength of the show’s themes, saying, “At its core, Children of Eden is a show about the importance of family and learning from the mistakes of our forefathers so that we don’t repeat them.”
Adam, Eve, Noah and the "Father" who created them deal with the headstrong and sometimes cataclysmic actions of their respective children. The show ultimately delivers a bittersweet, but inspiring message: that "the hardest part of love... is letting go.”
“We have a fantastically diverse and talented cast of all backgrounds and ages which makes the story truly inclusive,” said Whitmore. “No matter your background, you can relate.”
Children of Eden will be playing at Linden High School’s newly renovated Susan L. Hudak Auditorium July 19 – July 27, 2019. Tickets are on sale now! Call 908-925-7619 or order online at mysticvisionplayers.com.
