Linden Resident Wins First Place in Union County Senior Citizens Art Exhibit

LINDEN, NJ - Linden resident Angelito L. David won first place in the professional watercolor category during the opening reception of the 2018 Union County Senior Citizens Art Exhibit in Union.

The Senior Art Exhibit is an annual program run through the Union County Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs. Artists at any level of skill or experience are invited to register, including amateurs and non-professionals as well as working artists.

To qualify, the artwork must have been created within the past three years and must be an original creation of the artist.

The exhibit will be on display until July 9 at Liberty Hall Center which is located at 1085 Morris Avenue in Union.

Viewing times are from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Union County Residents Can “Recycle Right” without Plastic Bags

UNION COUNTY, NJ - The Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders reminds residents that plastic bags and other excluded items cannot be recycled through their local curbside pick-up programs.

“Union County residents have a good recycling rate compared to other counties in our state, and we want to improve on this record and set a high bar,” said Freeholder Chairman Sergio Granados.
