LINDEN, NJ - According to officials, at 11:42 a.m. a Linden police vehicle was involved in a serious motor vehicle crash at the intersection of S. Wood Avenue & 19th Street.

Preliminary reports indicate that the police vehicle and a 2018 Ford Explorer collided with a 2017 Freightliner utility truck. The truck then collided with a 2004 Ford F-150 pickup. Two parked vehicles were also involved in the crash.

The driver of the pickup truck and the officer were taken to Newark University Hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the freightliner was transported to RWJBH Rahway Hospital with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Union County Police Department Traffic Unit.
