Police Need Your Help Finding Shooting Suspect

LINDEN, NJ - At about 11:15 pm on Saturday, November 25, 2017, Linden Police Officers responded to  T.G.I. Friday's restaurant, 400 South Park Ave., on reports of a shooting.  Officers found the victim, 44-year old Newark man, in the parking lot. He was transported to University Hospital in Newark with serious injures.

Detectives believe that the suspect, described as a light-skinned Black male with long dreadlocks, entered the parking lot in a black sedan at approximately 11:11 pm. The suspect exited the vehicle, approached the victim, and shot him several times in the torso from close range. The suspect returned to the vehicle an exited the parking lot onto S.Long Ave. with the sedan lights off.

The victim remains in critical but stable condition. This is an active investigation and anyone who may have information about the shooting is asked to contact Detective Juan Velarde at (908) 347-9227.
